The Opportunity

A well-established, privately owned small-animal general practice is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join its two-doctor team. This is a replacement position with an ASAP start, offering a balanced four-day work week, modern diagnostic equipment, and a genuinely collaborative culture where doctors and staff work toward one shared goal: excellent patient care.

About the Practice

  • Privately owned, two-doctor small-animal general practice
  • Fully paperless, running on the Clientrax practice management system
  • A collaborative, no-competition environment among doctors and staff - everyone is here for the common goal of offering quality care
  • Well-supported clinical team: technicians take complete patient histories, restrain, place IV catheters, draw blood, obtain radiographs, administer injections/vaccines/SQ fluids, read cytologies, and handle client communication

The Role

  • Full-time associate DVM (replacement position) - open to all experience levels, from new graduates to seasoned veterinarians
  • 30-minute appointment slots (15 minutes for post-op rechecks) across morning and afternoon blocks
  • Typically one surgical morning per week per doctor - roughly three surgeries/dentals scheduled from 7:30am-12:30pm, with flexibility to do more at the doctor's discretion
  • No hard on-call: an answering service texts the doctor when a client reaches out, and calls are handled at the doctor's discretion. Clients are directed to one of three local emergency clinics for true emergencies

Schedule and Work-Life Balance

  • Rotating four-day, 10-hour work week - no five-day grind
  • Weekend coverage limited to every other Saturday (clinic closed 12-1 on Saturdays)
  • Predictable daily hours, with the practice open Monday through Saturday

Facility and Technology

  • Four exam rooms, one surgical suite, and one dedicated dental suite
  • Brand-new digital radiology system installed in July 2026, plus digital dental radiographs
  • In-house ultrasound with mobile veterinary imaging available as needed
  • In-house Abaxis CBC/chemistry analyzers and a Companion therapy laser

What's Offered

  • Salary $125,000-$165,000 - straight salary is typical, but the practice is open to a base-plus-production structure
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 120 hours of PTO annually (vacation/sick/personal) and six paid holidays
  • Simple IRA retirement plan
  • Covered DVM license, DEA license, and PLIT professional liability coverage
  • CE support - the practice typically covers a conference and hotel every two years
  • Pet care at cost, with relocation assistance considered depending on the candidate
  • Ownership path available and can be discussed

What We're Looking For

  • A DVM (or equivalent) licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice - all experience levels welcome
  • Strong, warm communicator who builds trust with clients
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative, low-ego practice culture

Interview Process

The process is straightforward: an initial phone screen, followed by a clinic tour and shadow visit, with an optional working interview if the candidate would find it helpful.
