The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established small animal general practice in the greater Pittsburgh area seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian. This is a busy, well-supported practice with a genuinely collaborative culture and remarkably low turnover across both the doctor and support staff.
This role is open to full-time or part-time candidates. It's a strong fit for a DVM who's confident seeing a full appointment schedule and performing routine surgery, enjoys a fast-paced flow, and wants a predictable weekday schedule with no on-call, no after-hours, and no Saturday appointments.
About the Practice
This is a small animal general practice offering wellness, surgery, dental, and in-house diagnostics. The team is built for efficiency and support:
- Three doctors on staff (two full-time, one part-time)
- Nine veterinary technicians and two client-facing receptionists
- Two techs per doctor on appointment days, two surgical techs per surgeon on procedure days
- Four exam rooms, one surgical suite, one dental unit, and a dedicated wet table
- Avimark with fully electronic medical records
The culture here is a real selling point. The current doctors have been with the practice for ten, six, and four years respectively, and several support staff members have been on the team for a decade or more. It's a supportive group that gets along and backs each other up.
Schedule and Caseload
- Full-time: Monday-Friday with one weekday off
- Part-time: two to three days per week

- No Saturday appointments, no on-call, no after-hours
- Roughly 15 appointments per day, plus two to three same-day sick slots
- Five to eight surgeries depending on the schedule and doctor skill set
- Note: true emergency cases are not handled at this practice
